Middle East Bio-chemicals; a Sustainable Alternative to Chemicals Based on Fossil Feed Stocks

Middle East Bio-chemicals, or bio-based chemicals, are manufactured from bio-based renewable materials such as starch, sugar, vegetable oils, and others. The conversion of these bio-materials into bio-chemicals is carried out by fermentation or enzyme reaction. Bio-chemicals offer a sustainable alternative to chemicals based on fossil feed stocks. However, the majority of chemicals and polymers are still derived from fossil based feedstocks. Thus, there is increase in demand for bio-chemicals due to the increasing need for environmentally sustainable solutions.

Notably examples of Middle East bio-chemicals include tall oils, cellulose fibers and cellulose derivatives, non-food starch, fatty acids, and fermentation products such as citric acid & ethanol. Bio-based materials refer to products that mainly consist of a substance (substances) derived from living matter (biomass) and either occur naturally or are synthesized, or it may refer to products made by processes that use biomass. Bio-refineries are industrial facilities that sustainably convert biomass into energy, chemicals, and materials.

Several important specialty chemicals that are produced from woody biomass are enzymes, 3-HP, bio-based fuel gas, syngas, butanol, and glycerin. Bio-chemicals can be used as building blocks for the synthesis of bioplastics or materials like paints, coatings, and adhesives. These chemicals can also be used for a variety of purposes, such as determining glucose level, lactate, and metabolites and providing information about the function of various physiological systems. Corn, sugar beet, sugarcane, cassava, and wheat are often used to produce bio-chemicals.

CMI has published a comprehensive report titled Global Middle East Bio-chemicals market from 2018 to 2026, which is the most impressive. Contain Industry Seeing, Sharp Organizing, Unmistakable and Clear Structures work on the line to provide an unavoidable customer experience.

Moreover, the overall cost for the production of bio-chemicals is comparatively low compared to conventional or non-renewable chemicals. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), bio-based products provide alternative to conventional petroleum derived products. Numerous bio-based chemicals feature in hundreds of products on the market today, and it is estimated that the production of bio-based products, in addition to biofuels, could generate US$ 10 billion of revenue for the global chemical industry.
