Spectrometry is one of the important tool found in all types of laboratory activities

Spectrometry is used in all types of laboratory activities, from the research laboratories of scientists to the various laboratory devices used in everyday life. It is basically a scientific method used to identify and measure certain types of optical, electromagnetic, or even sound waves. It is a broad field often used in conjunction with other scientific methods to define and/or measure an existing spectrum of phenomena in which the various optical, electromagnetic, or even sound waves are either mixed or separated. It is an important part of scientific research and analysis. It is applied in many scientific disciplines such as astronomy, chemistry, physics, biology, computer science, and engineering as well as other physical sciences. The measurement of wavelengths and sound frequencies from a sample or from a remote environment is referred to as Spectrometry.

An instrument is a scientific instrument utilized to separate, identify and measure different wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation. It is a wide term used to define specialized instruments which measure a measurable constant of a certain phenomenon in which the various Spectrometric properties of the component are mixed with the wavelengths. This process is called absorption, reflection, or transmission. There are several types of Spectrometry, and the way they measure wavelengths or certain frequencies depends on how they work, the sensitivity of the instrument, and the equipment's ability to provide the desired measurement. The measurement of individual wavelengths is known as Spectroscopy.

One such example of Spectrometry is x-rayed Spectrometry which measures the wavelengths emitted by atoms of materials that are subjected to ionization. The wavelengths are measured and compared to known standards, which in turn are compared to known values. Another application of this is in the field of medicine, such as radiology, diagnostic imaging, and treatment.
