Renewable/bio jet fuel can be used as an alternative to traditional fuels such as gasoline and diesel. This highly advanced technology is currently under development and there is much groundwork to be done before it can be marketed as a commercially viable product. There are several companies involved in the research and development of this highly advanced technology including several universities. A significant number of environmental groups are also involved in promoting the idea of using renewable/bio jet fuel for transportation systems as an alternative to traditional fuels such as gasoline and diesel.
Although the research and development programs for this fuel technology are on the low end of what would be required, there is a lot of hype being made about this renewable or bio jet fuel. It has the potential to replace all the other fossil fuels currently used by the transportation sector worldwide. Another advantage of using alternative fuel is the fact that it is extremely easy to implement into daily lives. One could simply add renewable jet fuel to vehicles so that one would no longer be dependent on foreign oil. The same is true for power the homes. Solar power, wind power, and vegetable oil are all viable options. A good reason to use bio-jet fuel is because of its efficiency. It is estimated that it will take about one gallon of biodiesel fuel to get one gallon of gasoline used up. Another reason to think about alternative fuels is that they are extremely environment-friendly. There are no carbon dioxide emissions or sulfur oxide released during the production of renewable bio jet fuels and so they are considered to be much more "green" than fossil fuels. It is believed that billet fuel will become the mainstream alternative fuel in the near future... Read more
